The CSF is situated 15 minutes walking distance from the famous tourist village of Ascona above the Lago Maggiore. The conference centre is surrounded by a splendid park. The botanical garden on the famous isles of Brissago is not far.
Why Canton Ticino in Switzerland?
Canton Ticino is Switzerland's southernmost region, contains its lowest altitudes, has a considerably warmer climate than the rest of the country and is located on one of the main transit axes across the Alps.
In addition to this, extensive traffic of goods and people, global climate change, and urban sprawl make Ticino the Swiss Region with the highest neophyte species richness, including many invasive plants.
